Ellis Group works to the Safe Contractor standards and the Contractor Health and Safety Scheme (CHAS).
Safe Contractor is an independent organisation that assesses the health and safety competency of contractors. It provides an accredited database of over 6000 contractors who meet the required standards of competency with their health and safety policies and procedures. CHAS is a scheme run by local authority health and safety and procurement professionals with the support of the Health and Safety Executive. The scheme is available for public and private sector organisations to use when assessing contractors, suppliers and consultants who apply to work for them. CHAS provides information, in some cases free of charge, to these organisations about the health and safety compliance of the applicants. Visit www.chas.gov.uk for more information.
